We're Friends of the Cal-Sag Trail. Since 2004, we've helped Cal-Sag communities and agencies turn a wishful line on a map into 12.5 miles of beautiful, paved, multi-use trail...and 13+ more miles by 2020.

The Friends of the Cal-Sag Trail is a membership-supported organization of volunteers, trail users, trail advocates, community representatives, business people, bicyclists, walkers, naturalists – a really great mix of people – who want the Cal-Sag Trail built and are having fun making that happen. Check our calendar for board meetings (public welcome!) and events.

Our Mission

To create the Cal-Sag Trail through the Chicago Southland region, from the Illinois & Michigan Canal in Lemont to Lake Michigan, as a green corridor connecting 14 communities and providing the backbone for linking regional recreational trails.
