Five Friends of the Cal-Sag Trail, with generous support from The Ozinga Foundation, have donated custom-fabricated benches for installation this spring from Palos Park to Alsip along the Cal-Sag Trail.
And on National Trails Day, June 4, 2022, we’re going to cut the ribbon on all five in a progressive dedication along the trail!
Beginning at 10 a.m., join Friends of the Cal-Sag Trail at the 86th Avenue trailhead in Palos Park. After dedicating two benches there, we’ll saddle up on our bikes and ride at “party pace” to new bench installations in Palos Heights and two more in Alsip, ending with a noon-time celebration in Alsip Park District’s Freedom Park at 131st Street and Cicero Avenue. Special thanks to the Village of Palos Park, the City of Palos Heights, and the Alsip Park District for their help with installation, and to the Alsip Police Department for traffic control assistance.
Bring your family and friends for a fun morning of celebrating the Cal-Sag Trail and the positive impact it’s having in our communities, on our environment, and in our lives.
